Abstract

861,334. Brake cooling system. WAGNER ELECTRIC CORPORATION. June 15, 1959 [June 16, 1958], No. 20376/59. Class 103 (1). A cooling system, particularly for automobile brakes, comprises relatively rotatable first and second members 54 and 39 having friction elements, first means, such as the master cylinder 43 for developing fluid pressure for actuating the first member 54, into contact with the second member 39, second means such as the pump 5 for circulating fluid through the first member 54 in heat exchanger relationship with the friction elements thereof, and third means, such as the plunger piston 34 for controlling the circulation of cooling fluid through the first member 54. The third means comprises throttling means responsive to said first means to pressurize the cooling fluid.
