Abstract
861,193. Electric heating. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 2, 1957 [Oct. 8, 1956], No. 30590/56. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group XXII]. A method of producing an electrical heating device comprises forming a composite body by casting metal 9, e.g. copper, copper base alloy, aluminium or aluminium base alloy, around an elongated member of friable material 8, e.g. asbestos, and an elongated tubular member 5, e.g. an aluminium sleeve having an electrical conductor 6 embedded therein and separated therefrom by crushable insulation 7 such as magnesium silicate, magnesia, asbestos or glass fibre, rolling the composite body into sheet form, Fig. 2, and thereafter providing an elnarged passage 10 in place of the material 8 by the application of fluid pressure.
