Abstract
860,666. Moulding ice cream. ELDORADO ICE CREAM CO. Ltd. Nov. 24, 1959 [Nov. 27. 1958], No. 38344/58. Class 87(2). Ice-cream sandwiches are made by extruding a layer of ice-cream through nozzles 10 and extruding another layer of ice-cream through nozzles 13 and feeding between the layers filler material through nozzles 17, only one group of nozzles being shown. The mouth of the nozzle 10 is partly blanked off at 12, resulting in an extruded layer 11 of trough-like cross-section. The filler is fed through a transverse supply pipe 16, which may be heated. The nozzle 17 has the same section as the trough and feeds the filler a little in front of the nozzle 10. The product passes along a delivery duct, not shown, to a wrapping machine. The outer nozzles may be of U cross-section and the feed nozzles may be circular. Delivery may be horizontal, on a conveyer belt, or vertical, down a shoot or on to a platform.
