Abstract

859,601. Firing bricks &c. COLLIER, J. T. April 10, 1959 [April 10, 1958], No. 11438/58. Class 87(1) Bricks &c. to be fired in a kiln are stacked on the floor of the kiln or on a wheeled car in a tunnel kiln and solid fuel 33 is charged into passages 32 formed between rows of bricks in the bottom course 30 of the stack so that the introduction of liquid, solid or gaseous heating medium will cause the fuel to be burnt. The fuel which may be coal dust, coke dust, wood waste &c. may also be located at 42 between bricks in upper courses and in the gap 43 between inclined stacks 27, 28. Solid fuel may also be charged into grooves or cavities formed in the floor of a continuous kiln or in the deck of the car for a tunnel kiln.
