857,249. Corrugated metal sheets and joints therefore; roofs, floors. DIEULANGARD, S. D. A. Nov. 28, 1957 [Nov. 30, 1956], No. 37160/57. Classes 20(2) and 20(4) [Also in Groups XI, XIII and XXV] A roof or interstory floor with sound-absorbing properties is formed by a corrugated ceiling of sheet metal members 1, the corrugations being filled with cement or puzzolana concrete 4 as insulation and the whole covered by a reinforced concrete slab 6 which may receive a floor covering 5. Copper hot water or steam pipes 12, 13 or members containing electrical resistances, are in direct contact with the metal members 1 (see Groups XI and XIII) or contact them by way of metal clips or suspension devices (see Group XXV). The pipes need not be on the underface of the members 1 as shown but may be on the top face, in the insulation, and may be formed by trough-shapes welded to the members 1. The members 1 may be corrugated as shown or the width of a crest 1b may be greater than the space between successive crests or may be formed with curved corrugations or may combine both forms. As shown in Fig. 1, the members 1 each constitute one crest of the corrugations and two halfcrests, but each may correspond to several crests and there may be gaps between consecutive members. Adjoining consecutive members 1 are welded together or secured by rivets or bolts 2 passing through vertical edge-flanges 1f or by wedge-shaped keys 18, Fig. 4, passing through coinciding slots in the edge-flanges 1f and locked in position by further wedge-shaped keys 20 passing through slots in the first keys.
