Abstract

857,025. Securing carpets to floors. WALLER, C. A. Dec. 30, 1957 [Dec. 28, 1956], No. 39478/56. Class 142 (4). [Also in Group X] A skirting member 1 of hard flexible rubber or synthetic resin has a divergent slot 5 to accommodate a floor covering (e.g. a carpet) which is gripped by teeth 7 in the base of the slot. The skirting may be stuck to the wall plaster or to a skirting board by adhesive strips 9; or the face 4 may be keyed into the plaster; or the skirting may be tacked, e.g. by secret nailing, to the floor, wall or skirting board. Two lengths may be formed at an angle to each other to provide a corner piece.
