Abstract
856,615. Bins and trays. GATES, R. E., WYLDE, S. J., and ROE, H. E. April 18, 1957 [Feb. 3, 1956], No. 3455/56. Class 18. Stackable bins 1 are provided with lateral projections 5 and beneath these depending legs 3 in each of which is a slot 6 vertically below the projection 5 ; when the bins are stacked the projections 5 on the lower bin are engaged with the slots 6 of the upper bin, and the legs 3 of the upper bin engage with the sides of the lower bin thus preventing lateral movement. Spacers 2, Fig. 3, may be provided in the same way with legs 4, projections 5 and slots 6, so that stacks of spaced bins may be arranged, see Fig. 1, to give more accessibility. In a modification (not shown), the slots 1 are in the sides and the projections on the legs of the bins or spacers. The bins and spacers may have relatively tapering sides, to form an arc in side-by-side arrangement ; they may be releasably secured together side-by-side by any suitable means.
