In a cylinder cabinet lock of the type in which the lock casing with its locking bolt 10 can be rotationally adjusted about a key operated cylinder into any of three predetermined positions so that the lock can be adapted to serve as either a right-hand or left-hand cupboard lock or as a drawer lock, the cylinder being disposed with its tumblers vertically above its key operated rotary plug 14 in each of these three positions so that the key slot in said plug will normally be vertical irrespective of the rotational setting of the lock casing and locking bolt about the cylinder, the locating means for retaining the lock casing and the cylinder in the three predetermined positions of relative rotational adjustment comprises a pivotal catch 21 which is normally accommodated in a housing recess 18 in the body 13 of the cylinder and projects therefrom into any of three locating slots 23 in the cap of the lock casing corresponding to said three positions, the arrangement being such that said catch can be swung about its pivotal axis out of engagement with the particular locating slot to permit relative rotational adjustment of the cap plate and cylinder into either of the other predetermined positions whereupon said catch can be turned about said axis into the newly presented locating slot. The catch has trunnions 20 which engage in slots 19 in the side walls of the recess 18. The outwardly presented edge of the catch is formed with a notch 24 for engagement by a fingernail or screwdriver so that the catch can be turned to its outwardly projecting position so long as the cylinder body 13 is not engaged with the mounting hole in the drawer or door. In a modification the catch instead of having trainnions is pivotally mounted in the recess 18 on a pin in a tangentially disposed bore which crosses the recess.
