Abstract
853,426. Supporting ceiling &c. boards. HODGSON & BOYES Ltd. March 11, 1959 [June 19, 1958], No. 19685/58. Class 20(4) Support means for insulation &c. boards comprises, an angle- or T-section member of which one flange or the leg 18 respectively has an enlarged (e.g. bulbous) free edge 19, and at least one spring clip having a loop 13 of U-shape comprising a curved base and two limbs the open mouth of which loop may be sprung over the said enlarged free edge, and clip having at least one arm 14 which forms an extension from one limb of the loop 13 and curves away from the loop 13 to seat with its convex face on the board 16 so as to hold the board 16 in place against a supporting flange 17 of the angle- or T-section member, the clip having at least one tongue 15 which projects inwardly towards the base of the loop 13 to engage the underside of the enlargement 19. The curve of the or each arm 14 is continued beyond the position of contact with the board to terminate beyond the flange 17. The or each arm 14 may have a slot 20 at its position of contact with the board 16. The underside of the enlargement 19 may be flattened and oblique to the flange or leg 18 of the support member. The flange or leg 18 may be of relatively soft material whilst the or each tongue 15 is of harder material. Lengths of support member may be joined together by a spring clip 21.
