Abstract

853,207. Change-speed gearing. SCHLEPPERWERK NORDHAUSER VEB. Jan. 8, 1958 [Oct. 19, 1957]; No. 751/58. Class 80 (2). In a change-speed gear, a reduction gearing utilizing the reverse gear shaft provides an additional crawling gear. A sliding gear change speed gear having an input shaft 1, an output shaft 2 formed as a splined shaft, and a layshaft 3 with gears rigid therewith, has a reversing shaft 7 carrying a sliding gear 8 which can engage with a gear 4 for reverse drive or with a gear 10 on a countershaft 9 for an extra low forward ratio. The countershaft 9 has a second gear 11 rigid with it which meshes with a gear of the layshaft, the gear 8 being always in mesh with the low-speed gear 5 on the driven shaft. The countershaft 9 may be added as a later unit to an existing gear-box, and a separate low-reverse lever may be provided, being interlocked with the normal lever such that only one gear can be engaged at a time.
