Abstract

852,999. Ice-cream freezers. SAMUEL WHITE & CO. Ltd., J. April 28, 1959 [April 29, 1958], No. 13581/58. Class 29 In a machine for dispensing soft ice cream, comprising a freezing chamber 10 supplied from reservoir 17 through pipe 18 and valve 19, the ice cream being dispensed through valve 22, a mechanical connection is provided between valves 22. 19 so that on opening valve 22, valve 19 is also opened. The valve 22 is a rotary plug on the lower end of a vertical shaft 24 having an operating handle 25, the upper end of the shaft carrying a rotary cam 26 coacting with a spring pressed sliding rod 27. On turning handle 25 to open valve 22, rod 27 is moved inwardly and, through pin 36, opens slide valve 19. The degree of opening of valve 19 may be altered by a screwthread adjustment 29. To open the valve 19 without valve 29 being opened, e.g. when starting up the machine, knob 35 is pulled outwardly so that a lever is rocked and, through pin 30, the rod 27 is moved. Pipe 20, for the admission of air, by-passes valve 19.
