Abstract
852,924. Removing metal by electro-erosion. HABIB, R. Sept. 10, 1958 [Sept. 11, 1957], No. 29004/58. Class 83 (4). In an electro-erosion device having a rotating electrode 16 particularly for sharpening tools 14, means 26 are provided for shaping or reshaping the working surface of the electrode to a pattern without removing the electrode from the device. The electrode 16, mounted on a bed 12, is belt-driven from an electric motor 20, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), and is supplied with its erosion current through its shaft 17 which is mounted in insulated bearings. The tool 14 is mounted in a vice 15 carried by another bed 11; both beds 11, 12 are relatively movable in two directions F1, F2. For redressing the peripheral surface of the electrode 16 a dressing tool 26 is guided by a pantagraph linkage 23 to reproduce the movement of a tracer 25 which co-operates with a pattern 35, Fig. 2 (not shown), secured to a support 36. The pattern may be a drawing. A handwheel 40 adjusts the position of the dressing tool 26.
