851,800. Internal shoe-drum brakes. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. July 15, 1958 [Aug. 2, 1957], No. 22706/58. Class 103 (1). In an internal shoe-drum brake, particularly for bicycles, the braking cam spindle 13 is adapted to be rotated in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the brake lever spindle 12 by means of an intermediate member in the form of a toothed system 11 comprising a pair of meshing toothed segments mounted on the braking cam spindle 13 and brake lever spindle 12 respectively. By rotating the cam spindle in the direction of rotation of the drum, excessive servo-effect on the brake shoes is avoided.
