Abstract
In a process for removing water from sludge, the sludge is heated for at least two hours at a temperature above 175 DEG C., at the end of which treatment the sludge still contains water, which is subsequently extracted, at least in part by a centrifuge or by filtering. Mean temperature and time values are given as 200 DEG C.-230 DEG C. and 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
