Abstract

851,279. Mobile ladders. SCHAFER, T., SCHAFER, M., SCHAFER, G., and SCHAFER, H., [trading as SCHAFER KOMM.- GES., F.]. Jan. 16, 1959 [Jan. 18, 1958], No. 1765/59. Class 20(2) [Also in Group XXX] An oblique mobile ladder 1 carries a table 14 for conveying storage containers to shelves for storing, and guided along the side members of the ladder on rollers and adapted to be raised and lowered by a chain 10 driven by a motor 12. The table is connected to the chain by a lever, one arm 24 Fig. 2 of which, is pressed by a spring 25 against the chain the movement of which is confined by a guide 27. If the chain breaks the spring 25 turns the lever so that the other arm 23 engages a step 2 of the ladder to prevent the table falling. The ladder is mounted on a frame 3, 5 mounted on rollers 30. Each step comprises two metal tubes 2.
