Abstract

850,098. Clocks. SMITH & SONS (ENGLAND) Ltd., S.' Nov. 11, 1958 [Nov. 11, 1957], No. 35115/57. Class 139 [Also in Group XIX] The dial markings or indicia of a clock or other indicator are formed by separate members each attached to the dial by a securing element which passes through holes in the dial. In the first example, Fig. 1, the dial markings 12 are formed by separate metallic and/or plastic members 13, Fig. 3, each secured to the dial by a staple 18 the limbs of which pass through holes 11, Fig. 1, in the dial 10. The staples are preferably of contrasting colour to the members 13. In another example, Fig. 6, the indicia are formed by flexible flat plates 22 stapled to the flat or curved dial 21. If desired a single securing plastic wire element 24, Fig. 8, may be looped round each indicia member.
