Abstract

848,565. Cycle saddle covers; luggagecarriers. CHEW, Y. L. March 19, 1957, No. º981/57. Classes 136(1) and 136(3). A device for protecting a cycle saddle against the weather comprises a dish-like cover 1 having a shape complementary to that of the saddle, a support frame 2 connected to the rear wheel fork of the cycle by a clamp 3 and by struts 4 and a transverse frame member 5 forming a U-shaped cradle 5a in which the cover 1 can engage. The rear end of the cover 1 is hinged at 7 to the closed end of a U-shaped rod 6 the open ends of which are bent at 8 and are pivotally supported in slotted bearing portions 9 at the rear of the transverse cradle 5a so that the cover 1 can be swung upwardly and forwardly to a horizontal position in which it will overlie the saddle A spring-loaded clamping device 10 holds the cover against its supporting frame 2.
