Abstract

The invention comprises S, N-ditrityl-L-cysteinyl-L-proline and esters and salts thereof, with organic bases. In Examples : (1) S, N-ditrityl-L-cysteine is reacted with methyl-L-prolinate or benzyl L-prolinate hydrochloride in the presence of dicyclohexyl-carbodimide to give the methyl or benzyl ester of S, N-ditrityl-L-cysteine-L-proline; (2) the products of (1) are hydrolysed with potassium hydroxide in aqueous alcohol, the mixture acidified to give the dipeptide which is treated with diethylamine to give the diethylamine salt.
