Abstract

847,812. Draught excluders. JARVIS, H. Feb. 11, 1958 [Nov. 12, 1956], No. 34528/56. Class 20(3) A vertically sliding draught excluder 7 is lowered by gravity and raised by the action of a spring pressed rod 3 when the door is opened. A stud 14 on the draught excluder slides in a slot 15 in the housing 1 to prevent lateral movement of the draught excluder which is freely supported by means of studs 13 on the longer arms of levers 8 pivoted to the housing the shorter arms of which engage in recesses 11 in the rod 3. In a second embodiment an equivalent part to the lever 8 rides on the underside of the rod which is so shaped to prevent lowering of the draught excluder until just before the door is closed.
