Abstract

847,651. Treating wood. WATT, C. March 14, 1957, No. 8503/57. Class 140. [Also in Group XXIX] Worm-infested wood is injected with liquid insecticide by means of a spray nozzle comprising a blunt nosepiece 5 having a tubular nipplelike extension 6 which can be inserted into a grub hole, the depth of insertion being limited by engagement of a trough-like portion 10 with the surface of the wood being treated. Liquid is discharged axially through a central bore 7 and laterally through passages 8 in the nipple, any back spray being trapped in the trough 10. The nozzle body is screw-threaded at 4 for engagement with a spray lance or pistol. Specification 847,649 is referred to.
