Abstract

847,227. Electric water heaters. VALUES PTY Ltd. Nov. 22, 1956 [Dec. 12, 1955], No. 35799/56. Class 39(3). [Also in Group XXIX] An electric water heater comprises a cylindrical container 10 with a domed cover 26, a threaded boss 12 for connection to a water supply through a manually operated control valve, and a water outlet 13 which is formed integrally with the container bottom 14 and is surrounded by a sheathed electric heating coil 22 supported from a plate 15. The inlet end of the outlet 13 is positioned close to the top of the container and a perforated metal plate 18, which is preferably flexible, covers the lower end to form a shower rose. The heater coil terminals 23 and an earthing terminal 25 are located in the space between the plate 15 and the cover 26, and the coil is connected to the electric power supply through a manually operated switch which may be of the tumbler type arranged to operate only when the water supply is turned on. The shower rose may be pivotally connected to the outlet.
