Abstract

846,760. Idler conveyer rollers. COLEMAN, R. S. Sept. 23, 1958 [July 6, 1957], No. 21453/57. Class 78 (1). Idler roller 10 for an endless-belt conveyer has its roller bearings made for easy removal. Thus, roller 10 has integral stub axle 12 on to which the bearing 13 is slid and, in turn, housing 14 is slid over the bearing 13 and is resiliently held in place by spring wire 19, the wire engaging behind plate 18 fixed to axle 12 and fitting into the groove shown in housing 14. Housing 16 is slotted at 17 to fit and engage the web 24a and shoulder 25a of the supporting bracket 23a.
