Class 120(1). The apparatus described in the parent Specification is modified in that needle drum 15 is mounted so closely to suction drum 10 and conveyer 11 that the suction from drum 10 is effective in the gap 24 between drum 15 and conveyer 11 to draw material into that gap and upon and between the needles of drum 15. It is then unnecessary to provide suction within drum 15. The needle roller 19 for stripping drum 15 is also so close to drum 10 that the suction acts in the gap 22 between roller 19 and drum 15 to remove the fibrous material.
