Abstract

845,674. Car transporters. PARKSIDE GARAGE Ltd. Jan. 8, 1959 [Oct. 9, 1957], No. 31525/57. Class 78 (4). Channels 3 on a car transporter can be raised about a pivot 4, after a car 6 has been run on to them, to leave space for the bonnet of a further car 9. The channels 3, in their lowered position, are in alignment with fixed channels 1 which terminate in ramps (not shown) stowed on the vehicle. The channels 3 are raised and lowered by fluid-pressure rams, electric rams, or screw-jacks which may be operated by power or manually, and the channels may be locked in their upper position either by a frame pivoted beneath their rear ends or by pins or clamps engaging upright posts 10.
