Abstract
845,310. Gas burners. TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. July 12, 1957 [July 13, 1956], No. 22136/57. Addition to 831,130. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XII] In a modification of the burner assembly for producing gases containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen by partial combustion of gaseous or liquid hydrocarbons with oxygen or oxygenenriched air of the parent Specification the tip of the outer conduit 13, Fig. 9, is formed with a cooling chamber 30 supplied with cooling fluid through a tube 32, the outlet tube for cooling fluid being coiled round the conduit as shown. The tip of the inner conduit 10 may also be provided with a cooling chamber 37, cooling fluid being supplied through a passage 38 and withdrawn through a passage 39, both passages being formed in the walls of the conduit. In a further modification, Fig. 2, the tips of the inner and outer conduits are co-planar, the tip of the outer conduit being formed with a cooling chamber 30.
