Abstract
A metal ceramic composition is obtained by mixing powders of particle size not greater than 300 B.S.S. and of 98% purity, of 75-90% molybdenum and the remainder alumina. Mixing can be by milling in an inert liquid which is subsequently removed. The composition is shaped with a temporary binder and then sintered under non-oxidizing conditions. The article may be covered by a glaze, or the surface molybdenum converted to a Mo/Si alloy, in order to prevent oxidation of the article. Specification 837,013 is referred to.
