Abstract
843,390. Gramophones. HENKE, G. A., [trading as HENKE, A. G., [Firm of]]. Jan. 14, 1959 [Jan. 17, 1958], No. 1396/59. Class 40 (2). A record player is provided with rapid stopping and starting means operated by a control mechanism actuated by a manually operated member which effects two control operations to carry out the two operations of stopping and starting by controlling a brake acting on the turntable, and coupling the motor to the turntable with a time delay. A first upward movement of a stop-start key 2 latches a lever 6 in one position in which, via mechanical linkages shown in Fig. 1 a brake pad 15 is applied to the rim 16 of a turntable, a motor switch 13 is opened, a jockey pulley 33 is withdrawn from turntable rim 16 and motor shaft 32, and a short-circuit is applied across the audio circuit 27. A second operation of stop-start key 2, or an operation of off key 3, reject key 4 or start key 5, releases the lever to the normal, i.e. start, position.
