Abstract
842,956. Transformers. SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., W. Sept. 3, 1958 [Sept. 11, 1957], No. 28344/58. Class 38 (2). A polyphase transformer system consists of a number of single-phase transformers having cores 1 each with three or more limbs, the primary and/or secondary windings 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, 5, 51 on the inner limbs being connected in series with tapped windings 9, 11, on the outer limbs to star points 18, 19 and compensating windings 10, 12 on the outer limbs being in parallel with auxiliary windings 4, 6 on the inner limb or limbs. The parallel connected windings 4, 10 may be connected in parallel or series with the parallel-connected windings 6, 12 and these sets of windings on the three transformers are connected together in delta as shown. to compensate for harmonic components of the system. In another arrangement (Fig. 3) a pair of parallelconnected third windings 15, 151 are also provided one on each limb and may form the primary windings, windings 3 and 5 being then connected in series to form the secondary.
