Abstract
842,426. Heel caps. PERFEKTA WIENER GUMMI-UND PLASTIKWERKE G. m. b. H. July 22, 1958 [July 23, 1957], No. 23574/58. Class 17(3) An elastic protective cap for heels has a tread plate 1 and a wall 3 to embrace the heel 2a, 2b with an inwardly directed ledge 4a, 4c extending at least part of the way round the inner face of the wall, to engage a recess 7a provided near the end of the heel. The ledge may comprise three spaced projections 4a, as in Fig. 3, or may extend continuously round the wall. Preferably, the ledge is situated half-way up the wall, and is spaced from the tread plate a distance equal to the thickness of the top piece 6a. In the construction shown in Fig. 7, the upper parts of the wall converge and the ledge 4c engages the shoulder 7b formed by the protruding top piece 6b. The ledge and recess preferably have corresponding profiles. The cap may consist of one or more highly elastic thermoplastics which are resistant to abrasion and may be coloured or transparent.
