842,132. Valve amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and ELDER, K. F. Nov. 26, 1958 [Nov. 26, 1957], No. 36873/57. Class 40(6). A selective low-frequency amplifier comprises a valve with two grids between cathode and anode, in which negative feedback is applied between anode and the inner grid via a frequencyselective twin-T network 1 and the signal is applied to the outer grid 19. The output is taken from the anode, the load comprising a tapped resistor 14 to which the network 1 is connected via blocking condenser 16 and switch 15, the position of which determines the bandwidth. The valve may be of the directly-heated screengrid type, the outer grid 19 comprising the screen-grid and being fed via series resistor 22. The arrangement permits of the bandwidth and centre frequency being varied without affecting the input impedance.
