Class 86 [Also in Group XXIV] In a modification of the driving means of the mechanical mixer described in the parent Specification, the driving motor 10 is mounted on a plate 11 which is hinged to the top of the container 5 so that the motor 10 and its pulley 9 may be swung into and out of frictional engagement with the driving belt 8 which passes round a pulley 3 mounted on the mixing shaft 4. The plate 11 bears against a cam 16 carried at the upper end of a spindle 13 rotatably mounted in lugs 14, 15 fixed to the container 5. At its lower end the spindle 13 carries a handle 13a by which the spindle may be rotated to effect engagement or disengagement of the belt drive.
