[Also in Group XXVIII] A liquid-cleaning unit comprises a plurality of spaced generally parallel imperforate plates 10, Fig. 1, each having on one side projections 11 and depressions 14 which on the other side form depressions 12 projections 13; the plates being nested as shown in Fig. 2 resulting in dirt-laden liquid entering the unit in any direction being constrained to take a sinuous path. The projections and/or depressions may be conical, pyramidal or frustro-pyramidal and the plates may be of roughened metal or of compressed fibrous material. Specification 767,231 is referred to.
