Class 108(3) [Also in Groups XIV and XVII] A protective pad for packaging purposes consists of shredded plastic film enclosed in an envelope having means to permit ingress and egress of air. It may be made by stitching together two plastic sheets 10, 11 to enclose the filling 13, the stitch holes providing air passages. Alternatively, the filling may be enclosed in a tube sealed at both ends and having an air aperture. A series of pads may be made by sealing a tube or long envelope at intervals and cutting across the seals.
