Abstract
The invention comprises pyridyl alkanol esters of 0,0-dialkyl thionophosphoric acids, particularly g - pyridine derivatives. The alkylene group of the alkanol and/or the alkyl groups may contain 1-4, preferably 2, carbon atoms. They are prepared by reacting a pyridyl alkanol with an 0,0-dialkyl thionophosphoric acid halide. Acid-binding agents such as pyridine may be present and an inert diluent may be used. Reaction temperatures of 20-150 DEG C. may be used. Increased pressures may be used. The products are insecticides (see Group VI).ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise pyridyl alkanol esters of O,O-dialkyl thionophosphoric acids, particularly g -pyridine derivatives. The alkylene group of the alkanol and/or the alkyl groups may contain 1-4, preferably 2, carbon atoms (for preparation see Group IV (b)). Solid or liquid carriers, stabilizers (e.g. triethanolamine), and other pesticidal substances may be present.
