Abstract

835,374. Hydraulic shock absorbers; road vehicle suspensions. MONROE AUTO EQUIPMENT CO. May 27, 1958 [June 11, 1957; Feb. 21, 1958], No. 16928/58. Classes 108(2) and 108(3) Auxiliary suspension springs 73<SP>1</SP>, 59<SP>1</SP>, additional to main suspension springs (Fig. 8, not shown), are disposed concentrically around each shock absorber of a vehicle. A rubber spacer ring 63<SP>1</SP> formed with peripherallyspaced, axially-extending internal and external grooves 65<SP>1</SP>, 67<SP>1</SP>, is disposed between the springs 73<SP>1</SP>, 59<SP>1</SP> and the shock absorber. In a modification. (Figs. 1-5, not shown), the two springs 73<SP>1</SP>, 59<SP>1</SP>, are replaced by a single spring.
