Abstract

835,181. Hollow cutter-heads. NORTON & CO. Ltd., Sir J. F. Dec. 15, 1958 [April 18, 1958], No. 12458/58. Class 83 (3). A hollow cutter-head comprises radiallymovable slides d, each carrying a tool s or a roller-steady e, and each having micrometer adjustment means h. The slides, of T-section, are clamped downwardly by plates c<SP>1</SP>, secured by screws g, and laterally by gibs 10. Each micrometer-screw is carried in a removable bridge-piece and is positioned between an abutment k and a ball n on the slide. The tool-tip s is clamped by a bracket t<SP>1</SP> which also clamps a serrated locking-piece u against a tool-holder t. A plain adjustable steadyblock v<SP>1</SP> bears against the work beneath the tool.
