[Also in Group XXX] The rope drums 1, 2, of a winch can be driven separately, Fig. 1, from the shaft through clutches 4, 5 for use with a grab, or may be combined, Fig. 2, by means of a strap 9 to form a single winch drum for lifting. Recesses 7 are formed in the adjacent ends of each drum, and in the recesses may be fitted either the said connecting strap 9 or separate flanges 6.
