Class 132(3) A toy or model gun comprises a barrel structure S having a bore 4 through which a projectile 8 is fired and also a bore or chamber 10 housing a spring-loaded striker rod 11 which has an offset arm 17 passing through a slot 15 in an extension 3 to a breech block 2. To cock the gun, the offset arm 17 is withdrawn against the action of a spring 12 and engaged behind a shoulder 18 on the extension 3, a projectile is then inserted into the barrel at 7 and the arm 17 released from the shoulder to fire the gun, the arm 17 being arrested clear of the breech block 2, as shown in dotted lines, by a head 14 on the rod 11 engaging the end of the chamber 10. The gun is mounted on a wheeled carriage C and the elevation of the barrel is adjustably secured by a detent 21 on the barrel structure engaging with a tooth 22 on a spring-loaded lever 23 which is pivoted to the carriage C at 25. As shown, the barrel structure, including the breech block, is formed in two halves which separate along a vertical plane to allow the insertion of the spring 12 and striker rod within the chamber 10, the halves being united by a muzzle collar 29 and by rivets or screw studs 31 at the breech end.
