833,747. Photo-electric printing control. RANK CINTEL Ltd. June 17, 1957 [June 15, 1956], No. 18543/56. Class 40 (3). In photographic printing apparatus in which a scanning spot of light from a cathode-ray tube 1 is focused through a negative 7 on to printing paper 8 and the light passing through the paper falls on a photo-cell 12 which feeds back through an amplifier 13 to the cathoderay tube to control its brightness, a filter 9 of varying density is arranged behind the paper 8 to compensate for variations in exposure caused by the distance of the spot from the centre of the paper. The filter may consist of a positive obtained from a film exposed.behind a film of uniform density.
