Abstract
833,211. Resistors; mounting terminals; direct connections between conductors. PAINTON & CO. Ltd. Aug. 10, 1956 [Aug. 11, 1955], No. 23213/55. Classes 37 and 38 (1). A wire-wound resistor has a cylindrical insulating former 1 with an axial hole at each end to receive the terminating lead 4. From the hole the former has a groove 8 in each end face to accommodate the intermediate conductor 5 which joins the resistance wire 2 to the terminating lead. The end holes may pass completely through the former. Various shapes of grooves are described which may be filled with a cement before the resistor is coated with vitreous enamel. Specification 575,297 is referred to.
