Abstract

832,787. Electric hoists. PUTZER, H. Sept. 18, 1956 [Sept. 19, 1955], No. 28542/56. Class 78 (5). An electrically-driven hoist is adapted to be used with one or two falls of chain. Motor 3 secured to wall 11 drives load sprocket 9 through shaft 8 and the gearing of eccentrically - positioned gear-box 2, the chain, when used with two falls, being hooked at its end over hook 19, the said hook 19 being carried by chain guide 6. The guide 6 also carries chain stripper 18 and is rotatable on shoulders 14, 15 but may be secured to walls 10, 11 by pins 16, 17. The hoist is adapted for one-fall operation by unhooking the second fall from hook 19, the displacement of gear-box 2 .about its pivot permitting choice of position of the sprocket axis in the one-fall operative position.
