832,674. Copy-milling; machine-tool plant. BLACKBURN GROUP Ltd., [formerly BLACKBURN & GENERAL AIRCRAFT Ltd.], BANCROFT, T., and WALKER, S. Oct. 1, 1958, No. 31337/58. Class 83 (3). A machine-tool comprises four separate power-operated units A, B, C, D, each having a tracer 6 controlling a cutter for working on a vertical work-face. The units are positioned in pairs, with opposing cutters aligned axially. Each cutter is movable horizontally and vertically by power, and may be adjusted axially. The longitudinal slideways are protected by bellows 1. Each template is mounted on a holder 2 by vertical bars, which can be secured in a number of accurately-determined positions. The cutters of adjacent units B, D have overlapping paths 7, d and e, f, and anti-collision switches are provided. The templates on the units B, D (and A, C), together form the shape required for one side of the work W. The units may be mounted so as to work on individual workpieces.
