Abstract

832,117. Confining dust generated in industrial processes. DALLOW, LAMBERT & CO. Ltd. Nov. 6, 1958 [Nov. 4, 1957], No. 34324/57. Class 8(2). Apparatus for combining and collecting airborne dust generated during the discharge of dry particulate material e.g., flour from a sack comprises an open-ended enclosure 2 having its upper end 2a connected to a dust collector casing 5, its lower end 2b connected to a hopper 4 and having an aperture 3 in one side through which the sack mouth is inserted. The aperture has a pivoted flap 18 and the open bottom 2b of the enclosure 2 has a grating 25 to prevent entry of foreign matter into the hopper. The lower portion of the casing 5 has a plurality of inward flow filter bags 7 suspended from a frame 11 are secured to a bottom frame 12 which may be vibrated by manually operated cam-actuated shaker means 9 ; air being drawn through the bags by a fan 8 discharging through a vent 6.
