Abstract

832,102. Centrifugal separators. BROADBENT & SONS Ltd., T. July 31, 1958 [Aug. 2, 1957], No. 24515/57. Class 46. A centrifugal separator of the underdriven type comprises a basket a rotated by an hydraulic motor c in which the contents of the basket are discharged by a plough (not shown) through annular openings d. Two shoots f, g are provided on either side of the motor for the passage of the discharge, these shoots tapering in a downward direction and having their upper ends covering practically the whole of the plan area for the discharge. The space between the shoots provides relatively free access to the motor.
