Abstract
An adhesive consists of a mixture, by weight, of 40 to 90 parts of a liquid diorganopolysiloxane, 60 to 100 parts of a methylpolysiloxane consisting of (CH3)3SiO 1/2 and SiO2 units in a ratio of between 1:10 and 5.9:10, 0.1 to 10 parts of a silicic acid ester and 0.01 to 10 parts of an amine. The diorganopolysiloxane preferably has a viscosity between 100,000 p and 5,000,000 cs. at 20 DEG C. Amines specified are n-propyl-, n-butyl-, octadecyl-, allyl-, diethyl-, di-n-butyl-, cyclohexyl-, cyclohexylethyl-, di-cyclohexyl-, and di-(trimethylsilylmethyl)-amines, piperidine and pyrrolidine. The silicic acid esters preferably have a viscosity of up to 200 cs. at 20 DEG C. and are derived from methanol, ethanol, n-isopropanol or allyl alcohol. Solvents e.g. aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons, may be added. The adhesives set at room temperature in less than 24 hours. Examples are given. Specification 767,797 is referred to.
