831,940. Moulding tyres. UNITED STATES RUBBER CO. July 31, 1958 [Oct. 10, 1957], No. 24657/58. Class 87(2). In order to prevent the formation of flash between the bead B of a tyre and the diaphragm 16 of a tyre moulding press, the toe rings 13 are provided with rounded tips 25 which squeeze the diaphragm into the space in which the flash would have been formed. It is stated that this allows one set of toe rings to be used for several thicknesses of bead, thus allowing the toe rings to be made integral with the. mould.
