Abstract
831,238. Endless track vehicles. MECATEC S. A. Aug. 15, 1957 [Sept. 8, 1956], No. 25803/57. Class 79(1) An endless track comprises a continuous band 1, Fig. 2, of rubber with a fabric reinforcement 2, the external face of the band having transverse grooves 3 containing driving members 6 which are connected through the band by bolts 20 to guides 4, Fig. 3, having interleaved pairs of extensions 12, 14 to oppose lateral deformations of the band. The driving members 6 are U-shaped in cross section to engage the sides 8 of the grooves 3 and have tongues 10 at each end for engagement with the teeth 24, Fig. 4. of the driving sprockets 25. The guides 4 are located on the band 1 by channel section plates 17 lying in grooves 18 on the band 1 and engaged at the sides by flanges 15 of the guides 4. The driving sprockets 25 comprise hubs 21 with a pair of cheeks 22 providing a groove 23 for the guide extensions 12, 14. The portion of track in contact with the ground is guided and supported by similar rollers (not shown) which are freely rotatable on hubs 21 and have no driving teeth 24.
