Abstract

830,528. Assembling nails and like articles. GUNNEBO BRUKS A.B. June 3, 1957, No. 17597/57. Class 94(1). [Also in Group XXX] Nails or similar objects to be packaged are first delivered to a non-magnetic container 14, Fig. 1, flanked by a pair of electromagnets 16 which cause the objects all to lie in the same direction. In the construction illustrated the container is fed by a series of shoots 2, 7, 12 as described in Specification 780,028 and the feed is interrupted when the nails rise to engage a comb 34. The interruption of the feed is detected by a member 31 which operates a relay to de-energize the magnets 16 and cause a member 23, 24, Fig. 2, to be lowered to contact the nails and deliver them to a trough 17. The member 23, 24 is carried by a spring biased rod sliding in a carriage 19 reciprocated by a link 27 from a shaft 29 driven through a single revolution at each delivery. Rollers 22 on the rod engage tracks 26 so that the member 23, 24 is lowered against the bias of a spring 25 as it moves to deliver the nails.
