Abstract

829,153. Crank-shafts. FIAT S. p. A. July 24, 1957 [Sept. 27, 1956], No. 23495/57. Class 80 (2). Crank-webs 1, 2, 3 integral with crank-pins 2c, are formed with annular surfaces which seat inner races 4a, 5a of shaft-supporting bearings 4, 5, which races are positively secured by bolts 6. As shown, the races 4a, 5a lie between the webs which are secured together by the same bolts 6, passing through the crankpins and the holes in the races. In Figs. 4 and 5, not shown, the crank-webs butt directly against each other and are bolted together by external bolts, the bearing races being held by separate bolts against a flange on one web.
