Abstract

828,520. Oil-break switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. May 14, 1958 [May 21, 1957], No. 15413/58. Class 38 (5). In an oil-blast switch in which the speed of opening of the. movable contact is independent of the interrupted current, and in which the extinguishing chamber 3 has an aperture 7 traversed by the contact 8 as it moves into and out of engagement with a contact 4, the contact 8 has a cylindrical space 9 closed by a stationary piston 10 and communicating with chamber 3 via two channels 11, a third channel 13 serving to connect the chamber 3 to a space 14 and thus allow the breaking-arc gases to escape. The contact 8 is pivoted at 15 to operating rods 16.
